Navya, an International Baccalaureate student, is a senior at Miramar High School. She has been the treasurer for JAB and is currently the chair. She is constantly volunteering in several service projects throughout school and the community, so when she learned about Joshua’s Heart, she jumped at the opportunity!
“Helping people gives me one of the best feelings someone can ever feel. Not only does JAB allow me to bring food to people in need, but it also allows me to express my organization, responsibility, and leadership skills. JAB allows me to improve myself while being able to help others. Joshua’s Heart has also given me the chance to meet new people and go to events I have never been to before. Performing a Bollywood dance for the Senior Citizens in the Jewish Senior Citizen Center, volunteering at Little Stars School, an orphanage in India, conducting a food distribution for 200 individuals for Gulfstream Middle School, and even leading a "Strike Out Hunger" Bowling event, volunteering has never been this fun before. As a hardworking, dedicated, and sincere student and volunteer, I want to make a difference in the world."
She is currently the president for her high school’s Key Club, Science National Honor Society, and founder of Nourishing Our Mankind (NOM, a service club affiliated with JHF). She volunteers at the University of Miami Breast Cancer Research Lab. Through finding cures, researching, raising money, gathering food, and more, Navya knows that a life of service is the ultimate life. “Joshua’s Heart is my portal to truly helping our community’s hunger problems, and I am honored to be a member “ says Navya.
