Colin W.

Jr. Advisory Board Member
Brief info

Colin is fourteen years-old and attends Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He has been with Joshua’s Heart Foundation since 2009. Colin is the President of the Palm Beach Region and Founder and Chair of the Junior Advisory Board (JAB) Boca. Colin says he is involved with Joshua’s Heart because he feels it is important to make sure every person has enough food to eat. Colin enjoys working with his board of volunteers on fundraising for the foundation. He also collects food, clothing, flowers, books and personal items and distributes them with other members of the JAB to needy families in Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Recently Colin developed a hydroponic garden at school, which has helped to provide fresh herbs and vegetables to families in need. “I really enjoy speaking to others about the importance of the cause,” says Colin. “Working with Joshua and other Joshua’s Heart volunteers will make a difference in our community and ultimately help us work toward the goal of stomping out hunger.”

Outside of Joshua’s Heart Foundation, Colin is involved in acting, singing, skiing, soccer, and tennis. Some of the musicals in which Colin has performed include: Mame, Bye Bye Birdie, Elf Jr., Once Upon a Mattress, The Wiz, Peter Pan, Through the Looking Glass, Little Shop of Horrors, and James and the Giant Peach. Colin has been the recipient of an YSA Disney Friends for Change Grant, Sodexo Foundation Hunger Grant, the Gold Presidential Service Award, Broward County Volunteer Service Award, Technology Student Association (TSA) Navy Award, and Joshua’s Heart Superhero of Service Award.
