Matthew is an eleven-year-old student at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Matthew serves as the Treasurer of the Boca Raton Chapter and Palm Beach region. He has been volunteering at Joshua’s Heart Foundation since he was 3 years old. Matthew enjoys organizing and participating in food drives at his school and creating awareness of the hunger problem in his community.
Over the years, Matthew has collected food, books, toys and personal items for distribution to families in Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach counties. He enjoys raising money for the foundation through bake sales at his school and participating in fundraisers for the foundation. Matthew says he is delighted to be a part of the Junior Advisory Board in Boca. He wants to help feed needy families and participate in planting fruits and vegetables at his school’s garden.
He is also interested in collecting school supplies and sports equipment for youth who do not have the means to purchase these items. Matthew plans to participate in ongoing backpack programs and food distributions in the future. Matthew understands that without food people are unable to survive. Outside interests include: soccer, lacrosse, acting, basketball, football and skiing. Matthew is the recipient of the Silver Presidential Service Award, and the Broward County Commissions Volunteer Service Award for helping under-serviced communities.
