Volunteer

Check out the ways you can help give back by helping us to make a difference in the community.

Volunteers are an integral part of Joshua’s Heart’s efforts to stomp out hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world. Our volunteers are both children and adults who work directly with the needy and in administrative and planning areas.

We understand that some people’s schedules only allow them to help out occasionally, while others are interested in making the commitment to take on a leadership role. That’s why Joshua’s Heart offers multiple volunteer programs.

Junior Advisory Board (JAB)

Youth serve as a “board of directors” for the organization. Members serve as Joshua’s “right hand,” representing the foundation at events and guiding the younger volunteers. Must be between 10-18 years old.

Food Distribution Volunteers

Volunteers who help out with our food donation programs gain hands on community service experience as well as the satisfaction of doing their part to stomp out hunger. We have an ongoing need for people to fill the following roles: Food Sorter, Food Distribution Assistance, Special Event Volunteers.

Food Sorter
These individuals are as essential part of Joshua’s Heart. They help pack, sort and distribute healthy food to those in need. No experience is necessary, just a desire to help your community. No age requirement.

Food Box Distribution Assistance
Volunteers in this role help distribute supplemental food program boxes at our distribution sites on weekdays. They help seniors carry at least a 35-pound box and register new clients. Volunteers should be comfortable interacting with women, children and senior citizens from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds.

Special Event Volunteers
Joshua’s Heart participates in a variety of food drives and fundraisers through the year. Volunteers collect food and money while assisting at these fun community activities. Most events are held in the evening or on weekends. Would you like to Fundraise, conduct a food drive or do you have an idea? Contact Us.

Administrative Volunteers

If you have or would like to gain, clerical experience, you would make a great administrative volunteer.
